Calypso is a family run business and has been so since day one. My late father Spyros and my mun Xenia took over this restaurant in the summer of 1990 and it soon became well-known not only in the Ionian islands but also in Europe (Italy, the UK, France, Austria and more) with many returning customers year after year.

Spyros
My late father had lived quite a few years in Europe and loved chatting and exchanging ideas with our international customers, so the restaurant was not only a food destination but also a meeting point of different cultures who used good, traditional Greek food as a basis for communication and the formation of long-lasting friendships.

Family
After my father's passing in 2003, my mother, my sister and myself took over the running of the business and we consider it our obligation to continue and expand its good name while maintaining its original and genuine character which made it so popular in the first place.

Calypso
What makes Calypso special is that it is not just about the good food. It is about the fact that we treat all our customers the way we host our guests in our homes. Apart from pleasing their taste, we try to make them feel welcome and at home. I think this is the essence of Greek hospitality.
